Anita's Stitching

I have begun stitching in 1978. For the last 10 years, my stitching has been with "smalls". I love to use beads and ribbons and always looking for new ways for finishing. My email addresses is anita@anitalittlestitches.com.

Chatelaine's Freebie Martina's roses

This will be my last finish for March. March was not a productive stitching month for me, so many things have happened between being sick, going to the drs offices, not having enough of sleep and so on. This is my second freebie for the month. I finished it as a biscornu. I have never shown the bottom of my biscornu and here it is. If I don't use any button on the top of my biscornu, I generally will put a button or beads at the bottom. It is a very cute freebie and I just love roses. I just went to Hancock fabric and picked up a few buttons, they are on sale at 50%.

Cathy, the blue flower is called Blue bonnets in Texas and it is also called Lupines.

Lizzie Kate Freebie Hello Spring

I have signed up in Friend's Gather BB on March Freebie Challenge. Life has been so hectic around here that I just started my first Freebie this week and I plan to have 3 more stitched before the end of March. I stitched it with one over one with recommended Sampler threads and Week dye works.

It is definitely spring here in Texas and I have taken a few pictures of the wildflowers in my flowerbeds.

French Bleu De chine Sweet Pea Heart

I generally don't post WIP because I don't work on big project. I have been stitching this heart design for almost one week, I have made quite a few mistakes and ended up ripping the stitches out. It is a very pretty design and my first with this designer. I do plan to stitch more of her designs in the future.

I have a few pictures of the Dream stitchers store at Mt Dora, FLorida that I visited on my vacation.

I bought a few old magazines, some threads, charts and the kit package for "believe in a cure", which is also shown on the above picture. I could spend a whole day browsing because she does have a big inventory of charms, bead, charts, and threads.

Just Cross Stitch magazines Prairie schooler designs

Thank you for all the get well wishes. My son has been feeling almost normal since we came back, he got a antibotic shot and medication and his cough was greatly improved. I decided to go to see a doctor today, I was tired, having headaches, toothaches, earaches, sore throat and just being sick. After spending $60 in dr visit and medicaton, I think I should feel better in a few days.

I finished stitching 2 Prairie schooler seasonal series published in Just cross stitch magazines, Spring and Autumn. The Summer one has not come out yet and I will stitch Summer and Winter at the same time.

Spring

Autumn

I am thinking about finishing them as pinkeeps or Mattress style pinkeeps.

Have a great week.

Back from Vacation, Orlando, Florida

The weather was perfect, the Marriot hotel resort that we stayed was great but my son and I were sick. He had cold/flu/cough/ear infection prior to our departure and was very sick. My husband won't cancel the trip so we all went as scheduled. I got sick after I got there due to lack of sleep and my son probably gave the germs to me too. We managed to go to the Disney Parks for 2 days, Magic Kingdom, Animal park, and Epcot. It was a lot of work and my 3 years old son was a "super" baby wanting to be carried 85% of the time. I can't blame him because he did not have an appetite and was not feeling good and on antibotics. The cold/flu affected me more at nightime with cough, watery eyes, and headaches. I still have the cold and I still feel sick and tired.

I did manage to visit a local needlework shop, the Dream stitchers (http://www.dreamstitchers.com/) and stayed there for over one hour. She has a great thread inventory, lots of mill hill beads, charms, a great inventory of fabric and charts. I can spend the whole day there. I will have some pictures later on early next week.

I don't have any stitching to show this time because I did not stitch much at all while I was on vacation being "supermom" and "supermaid". I really miss being "single" and have less responsibility. Even though I am sick and tired, I still have to take care of my child and make sure he is being taken care of. It is a lot of work and when he gets sick, I am his "security blanket", everything is "MaMa".

Thank you for all the comments about my biscornus. I really have a great time doing the finishing parts and trying to come up with new ideas. Thank you so much for all the new faces and comments. Have a great weekend and I will have some stitching posted on Monday.
