Anita's Stitching

I have begun stitching in 1978. For the last 10 years, my stitching has been with "smalls". I love to use beads and ribbons and always looking for new ways for finishing. My email addresses is anita@anitalittlestitches.com.

A small Just Nan finish

This is from the chart Heartfelt and I plan to finish it as a scissor fob with my inital A at the back.

Thank you for the compliment about my first Biscornu, the year of 2007 will be biscornu year for me, so come back to look at what pattern I will be stitching on.

My First Biscornu finishing

I finally sat down yesterday and finished a Biscornu. My favorite instruction on line is written by Mary Kathryn, http://lhfinishingschool.wordpress.com/biscornu-class/. The majority of the biscornu have buttons in the middle, however I have a few designs that are perfect for this type of finishings that have designs in the middle. I did not have any luck finding small "transparent" buttons for the middle. The best thing I like about the Biscornu is the "dent". So Chrissie comes to my rescue. Chrissie has made a few gorgeous biscornu with beads and tassels, http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=4303498&a=32285226&f=.

This is a Just Nan small design, Victorian Floral. There are beads on the biscornu. I used the Irish linen from Joann fabric. I like the stiffness in the Irish linen which come in the tube and perfect fabric for scissor fob as well.

I am very happy with the finish and there are going to be more biscornu coming up soon.

Just Nan ornaments

I saw these ornaments in a local needlework shop in Spring, Texas and they were so pretty. The borders of the three ornaments are the same and surrounded by gold beads. Since that time, they are always on my "to-do-list" and here they are:

Yuletide Wreath Ornament

Rose Ornament

Sugarplum violets ornament

Savoir Faire Valley Joyeux Noel heart

I started this design last month and I am determined not to make it into a UFO. I finished it this week. It took me longer. It is a French design and I love their heart designs.

2 Just Nan finishes

I am starting the year of 2007 with Just Nan. I have picked a few projects and there are 3 small UFO ornaments from previous years as well. My problem is finishing and I am trying very hard this year to do some type of finishing at the end of each month.

Christmas Rose Ornament, my plan is to finish this as a pinkeep:

The gold beads on this piece took forever but it does enhance the whole piece.

Peppermint rose, this is a perfect size for a scissor fob, my plan is to find some rose buds designs to put on the backside and put my initial "A".

There are similarities between the two pieces and I think they will look perfect as a needlework small set.
