What happened in September

I am so glad that September is almost over. I had my birthday early in the month and then Hurricane Ike came and visited us. We live 40 miles from Galveston, Texas. We live in the evacuation zone of Hurricane Ike. We did not evacuate because my husband said it was only a catagory 2. We would be fine.The wind started picking up around 3 pm on September 12, Friday. The wind was very bad, the storm surge was horrible, and the rainfall was very limited. My 5 years old son was so mad at the noises outside the house, "be quiet, I am trying to sleep here." It was a scary experience. We suffered minimum damages as far as roof, trees, and fence. We lost electricity for 7 days and I lost all my food in the 2 refrigerators but we were lucky to have water and hot water. The regular phone service did not work for 5 days and the cell phone was useless. I was told during a diaster period, text message is the best way to keep contact. Thank you for the ones that have emailed me and kept me and my family in your prayers.

I am behind at least 2 weeks. My list of things to do are just getting longer and longer.

I have not stitched much but I did work on new designs. A 15 sides biscornu(font and bottom and I don't have the side pictures taken yet) and a needleminder (there is a magnet in the middle to hold needles). I am still working on the needleroll design and they will be available in October.

I have been working very hard in the last few weeks trying to get a few things done. Working on my web site is one of my priorities. It has been a great learning experience but very time consuming and frustrating at the same times. There were issues about the web site that was out of my control. It has been days before the technical support would resolve those issues for me. Looking for supplies, products have been a very time consuming process as well. My son has been sick with his coughing for the last 2 months. We need to see a specialist to find out why. So I have not been able to get much sleep and trying to do everything with limited time. I have not been able to visit blogs or leaving comments either. Hopefully in 2 months, things will be better and life will be back to the normal routine soon.

Little Stitches Strawberry Emery and accessories designs, emery finishing and ribbon finishing techniques

Thank you so much for all the well wishes in the last post. My son had "croup" about 2 weeks ago for one week. It was very bad with severe coughing and vomitting at nights. There were nights that I only got 2 hours of sleep. It was horrible. He had croup in last November and ended up in the emergency room. We did take him to the doctor this time as well but they did not give him any medication because it was a viral infection. It was heart breaking to see what my son went through with the cough. He is doing better now and he has lost a few pounds. There is so much to be thankful when a kid is healthy.

I have started a new venture in the last 2 months. For those that have been visiting on my blog know how much I enjoy stitching "smalls". This has lead to the start of my design company, Little Stitches. The first series of design are emeries, biscornu, scissor fobs and pinkeeps. The the designs are delivered in downloaded PDF format. The designs are charted with Pattern maker and converted to microsoft word and then PDF format. The chart is just like a regular chart with a color cover front page with all the info to stitch the design. I am working on the Little Stitches web site. I have 200 pages of info to read and it will take me at least one more week to get it going. In addition to my designs, I am also carrying selective fabric, special threads and other accessories. The rose emery, biscornu, pinkeep and scissor fob use a special custom Vikki clayton silk, there will be 4 yard included, enough to stitch the emery, biscornu, pinkeep and scissor fob. There are over 300 beads included for all the emeries as well the accessories designs. A beading needle is also included. No DMC and Fabric are included.
